Health Kiosk
Project Details
In pursuit of making health checkups more accessible to the general population while upholding cultural values of privacy, the concept of an enclosure was conceived. This enclosure was meticulously designed to facilitate quick health assessments with minimal to no assistance required. These versatile kiosks can be strategically placed in public areas, serving as an encouraging catalyst for individuals to prioritize their health and establish connections with relevant healthcare professionals.
The design of this enclosure draws inspiration from the traditional attire of Qatari national men, characterized by the iconic thobe, a long white shirt worn over loose pants, complemented by a loose headdress known as the gutra, typically in white or red and white fabric, secured with a black rope called the agal. This choice of design was guided by the principle of familiarity, ensuring that users would immediately relate to and feel comfortable with the structure.
While prioritizing cultural resonance, the design also successfully addresses key functional requirements, including privacy, ease of use, and compactness. Achieving these objectives, the enclosure features a fluidic glass shape that meticulously replicates the fabric of the traditional dress, harmoniously blending cultural heritage with modern healthcare accessibility.
